Haiku OS Sees Port Of Go 1.18 Programming Language - Phoronix
Haiku OS gets a modern Go port: Go 1.18 has been brought to the BeOS-inspired, open-source operating system, marking a major step up from the decade-old Go 1.4 era. While Go 1.18 trails the current upstream Go 1.25, the port introduced POSIX compliance improvements and various fixes across the platform.
Highlights from Haiku’s November updates:
- Go 1.18 port: newer toolchain for Haiku with POSIX compliance updates and bug fixes
- Terminal: internal clipboard now syncs with the system clipboard only at startup
- Mail: stability fixes and general refinements
- Drivers and input: improved SDHCI compatibility and touchpad fixes, plus other system improvements
More details on the monthly changes are available via the Haiku-OS.org blog. Report by Michael Larabel, December 12, 2025.
