Bradley the Badger, a comedic platformer co-directed by Davide Soliani (Mario + Rabbids) and Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption), aims to deliver the video game industry’s big satire moment. Revealed during The Geoff Keighley Night, it blends throwback platforming with a fresh meta twist: the world breaks down, you peek behind the code, and Bradley even uses game dev tools inside the game to bend the rules.

Cantamessa argues games are ready for the kind of self-skewering long embraced by other media—pointing to TV’s The Studio, film’s Birdman, and comics’ Deadpool—saying satire can be “healthy, humorous” navel-gazing. The article notes, however, that gaming already has sharp satirical streaks in The Stanley Parable, Portal, Earthbound, and Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Bradley goes further by directly lampooning modern hits like Bloodborne and Cyberpunk, raising the question of whether its high-profile leadership makes those jabs more palatable.

Whether its satire lands—or it simply plays great—remains to be seen, but you can wishlist it now. By Oisin Kuhnke, published Dec 13, 2025. Image credit: Day 4 Night.
