Ubisoft acquires March of Giants from Amazon, bringing the veteran development team onboard to continue the free-to-play MOBA’s evolution.

Ubisoft has acquired March of Giants—originally developed by Amazon’s Montreal Games studio. The team is joining Ubisoft to keep building the 4v4 tactical online battle arena and is already working on the next major update.
What is March of Giants?
March of Giants puts players in control of towering combatants clashing across ravaged urban battlefields inspired by early-1900s technology. It blends real-time strategy with lane-based MOBA action, rewarding coordination and mastery of giant heroes.
Key gameplay highlights:
- 4v4 tactical multiplayer matches
- Command battalions of smaller allied units
- Deploy Battleworks: trenches, tanks, turrets, and bunkers
- RTS depth meets lane-based combat and large-scale team coordination
Who’s leading development?
A veteran team is at the helm, including former Ubisoft leaders:
- Alexandre Parizeau, Senior Production lead and former Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto
- Xavier Marquis, Creative Director and the original creative director behind Rainbow Six Siege
The leadership describes the move as a return to roots at Ubisoft, thanking Amazon for supporting the game’s early chapters—especially a closed alpha that showcased its potential—and aligning around a shared vision to grow March of Giants into an enduring MOBA.
